aanaVail orthopedic shoulder surgeon and sports medicine specialist, Dr. Peter J. Millett, was recently chosen to receive a Research Grant from the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Millett’s research proposal was selected specifically on the topic: “Are Shoulder Kinematics Restored by Rotator Cuff Repair? A Prospective in Vivo Biplane Fluoroscopy Study.” The $25,000 research grant was presented to Dr. Millett during the AANA Annual Meeting April 14-16, 2011 in San Francisco, CA.  Research towards the study will begin this spring. A full conclusion of the study will be reported by June of 2012.

The Research Committee of the Arthroscopy Association of North America accepts applications for consideration for research grants and other research awards. These awards and grants are for clinical or basic science research in the field of arthroscopic surgery or disorders amenable to arthroscopic treatment.
