The anatomy of the triceps brachii insertion has been described as three muscular heads contributing to a single tendon. At the time of surgery for a suspected triceps tendon rupture in a young healthy male, we identified an intact superficial tendon with a separate deep tendon insertion that was ruptured. We performed an anatomic study to determine the insertional anatomy of the triceps brachii tendon.
