At the end of March, the Volvo Legends of Skiing giant slalom took place at Golden Peak. During the skiing extravaganza, some of the best and most competitive ski legends of competitions past gathered to ski together, compete and reminisce about some of the best competitions the sport has ever witnessed. Marco Tonazzi, past winner of the Italian National Slalom and World Cup champion, was on board for the event.
Tonazzi, a good friend of Dr. Peter Millett and owner of the Val Bruno in Vail Village, was happy to be back on the slopes after many years off. Coming in first place, he admits it was an honor to be included in the mix of such talented skiers and friends. “After 17 years I didn’t race again for seven years. Not one gate,” Tonazzi said. “This is the only one I do.”
